Be Green Recycling CC is an innovative plastic recycling company that encourages businesses to “Be Green”.
Our vision is to innovate and advance the methodology applied in plastic recycling to create an holistic approach where recycling is done for the right reasons in the right way. Our specific goal is to minimise the amount of plastic and polystyrene waste sent to landfill sites by recycling it in an environmentally responsible manner.

Be Green’s corporate philosophy requires us to constantly examine and improve our systems, while identifying and exploring new methods, processes and technologies to move our ecologically aware recycling systems forward.

Our approach

We have developed and adopted an eco-conscious approach to our business, including using eco-friendly and bio-degradable cleaning materials, and minimising our water usage with extensively researched and tested proprietary washing practices.

Our water usage is less than half that of your average household and waste water is carefully treated to ensure zero negative environmental impact.

Legislation and compliance certificate

The new National Environmental Management: Waste Act came into effect on 1 July 2009 and imposes huge fines and prison sentences on companies that run foul and are convicted of non-compliance.

The Star “The central theme of the act is that disposal of waste to a landfill should only be a last resort. This is at odds with the strategies of many companies that simply work towards safe disposal at landfill sites rather than implementing other waste-management measures.“

We aim to assist businesses, particularly where legislative, ISO 9001, 14001 or Health standards compliance is critical, to ensure that they retain or achieve their compliance for recycling and waste management processes. In this regard, we provide our clients with a certificate on a monthly basis for audit and compliance purposes.

Be Green Recycling is a registered member of the Plastics Federation of South Africa and also the Polystyrene Packaging Council and is in the process of attaining ISO 14001 compliance.
